Charges.
Water used shall be charged as follows: A minimum of $62.50. For the first 20,000 gallons shall be charged at $5.25 per thousand. Additional use above the 20,000 gallons will be charged at $2.98 per thousand. A $1,500.00 deposit shall be paid prior to the receipt of the construction fire hydrant meter. Application shall be made at the office of the St. Charles Mesa Water District during the District's designated business hours.
Guidelines.
By signing the application for fire hydrant water use, the applicant agrees to follow all guidelines set forth herein:
  1. The applicant hereby agrees to accept the responsibility for the water charges, the meter, auxiliary valves, and other equipment furnished, and hereby agrees to pay for any damage due to neglect, theft, disappearance or vandalism which occur during the time this equipment is in the applicant's possession.
  2. The applicant shall take the necessary steps to protect the meter against freezing, vandalism, theft, and other possible damages.
  3. Fire hydrants will be used, only as assigned and designated on the application for fire hydrant use. No other hydrant may be used.
  4. All connections shall comply to St. Charles Mesa Water District policy on back flow prevention. The St. Charles Mesa Water District may refuse to deliver water where any condition exists which might lead to the contamination of the public water supply and may continue to refuse such delivery of water until such condition is remedied.
  5. Applicants shall install the water meter as a permanent fixture of the vehicle being utilized. This installation shall meet with the approval of the St. Charles Mesa Water District and shall include a District approved backflow prevention unit. Inspection of this installation shall occur regularly as deemed necessary by the St. Charles Mesa Water District.
  6. The applicant shall, as designated, make available the meter for reading purposes. Under normal conditions, all meters must be brought to the St. Charles Mesa Water District office located at 1397 Aspen Road between the first and fifth day each month for reading and inspection.
  7. The applicant agrees to use only District approved wrenches in the opening and operation of a fire hydrant. Further, the applicant accepts the responsibility for checking the fire hydrant used for proper drainage at the end of each day. Any related problems shall be immediately reported to the St. Charles Mesa Water District office.
  8. The St. Charles Mesa Water District's agent shall attach and seal the fire hydrant meter to the tank truck per the attached drawing. The applicant agrees to see that the seal remains intact.
  9. The applicant agrees to follow all Rules and Regulations of the St. Charles Mesa Water District in relation to fire hydrant water use and is liable for any misuse of said hydrants and the water taken therefrom.
  10. The District has the right to discontinue the use of fire hydrant water as a service and terminate the service provided for in this application, upon written notice given five (5) days in advance, or for failure to pay any bill when due, or for any violation of any of the terms and conditions of this application, or for any violation of its rules and in emergencies also has the right to discontinue this service when deemed necessary by the District.
